Jeffrey M. Senger, Esq., FCIArb Joins JAMS in Washington, D.C.

Former FDA acting chief counsel joins JAMS as an arbitrator, mediator, special master/referee and neutral evaluator

Washington, D.C. – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce that Jeffrey M. Senger, Esq., FCIArb, has joined its panel. Mr. Senger joins JAMS following a distinguished career as a life sciences partner at Sidley Austin and the acting chief counsel of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

As a Sidley partner, Mr. Senger handled significant matters for life sciences, health care, pharmaceutical and medical technology companies worldwide. At the FDA, he directed the agency’s legal activities, including managing civil and criminal litigation, approving regulations and warning letters, and overseeing a team of 100 lawyers. Throughout his career, he has also mediated, arbitrated and litigated hundreds of cases involving a wide variety of complex commercial disputes.

Based in the Washington, D.C., Resolution Center, Mr. Senger will serve as an arbitrator, mediator, special master/referee and neutral evaluator, handling life sciences, health care, international and cross-border, government/public agency, pharmaceuticals/mass torts, agribusiness and food law, cybersecurity and privacy and general business/commercial cases. He is available to conduct sessions in person, as well as virtually, for clients across the country and internationally.

Mr. Senger joins JAMS with an incredible depth of public and private sector experience. He is recognized for his work within the life sciences industry and has valuable insight into the preparation, due diligence and communication required for efficient dispute resolution.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Senger served for 17 years as an attorney with the United States Department of Justice. During that time, he served as senior counsel in the Office of the Associate Attorney General, assisting with the strategic management of more than 6,500 employees and a collective budget over $3 billion. He also prosecuted felony cases as a special assistant United States attorney. Additionally, he served as a training director at the National Advocacy Center and leader of the Office of Dispute Resolution, where he coordinated mediations and arbitrations for all federal agencies.

As a mediator, I work to achieve a fair, appropriate and durable resolution through improved communication, reality testing, patience and perseverance. As an arbitrator, I act with diligence, care and promptness to deliver an impartial and well-reasoned result.

Mr. Senger earned his A.B., magna cum laude, from Harvard University and his J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School.
