Through the Lens: Focus on Justice Faith Ireland

Breaking Barriers and Bridging Differences

Justice Faith Ireland (Ret.) began her career as a pioneer, graduating as one of only two women in her law school class. Her impressive career includes 21 years in the judiciary, with a notable tenure on the Supreme Court of Washington.

Justice Ireland draws from her extensive experience in both trial and appellate courts to aid in her mediation and arbitration practice. She believes in mediation's power to foster agreements that satisfy all parties' essential needs and uses empathetic listening as a means of getting to the heart of each matter. As she puts it,

It's very important, of course, to understand the law. And that's where the logic part comes in. It is also, however, very important to understand the emotions and the values, because that is often what decides whether or not a case is going to be resolved.

Justice Ireland’s areas of interest range from personal injury and business disputes to appellate cases.

Watch the full video to see how Justice Ireland continues to influence the field of law, helping parties navigate complex legal landscapes and disputes with her wisdom and empathy.
