Retired Judge William L. Downing Joins JAMS in Seattle

Experienced trial court judge serves as a mediator, arbitrator, and special master

New Panelist Announcement

SEATTLE – JAMS, the largest private provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, today announced the addition of Hon. William L. Downing (Ret.) to its panel. Judge Downing will be based in the JAMS Seattle Resolution Center. He will serve as a mediator, arbitrator and special master in a variety of disputes including Business/Commercial, Construction, Class Action/Mass Tort, Employment, Family Law, Insurance, Personal Injury/Torts, Professional Liability and Real Estate.

A trial court judge for nearly 28 years, Judge Downing has developed unique expertise in many different areas of law. He has handled thousands of cases as a King County Superior Court judge and is widely respected by the legal community. In addition to his experience as a jurist and attorney, as Chair of the Bench-Bar-Press Liaison Committee, Judge Downing has mediated hundreds of disputes involving the balancing of interests involved in access to public records.

Judge Downing is known for his hard-working attitude and neutral and balanced approach to resolving disputes. He effectively works with parties to find common ground and we’re thrilled to have him join us in Seattle.
