Hon. Helen L. Halpert (Ret.) Joins JAMS in Seattle

Former King County judge joins JAMS as a mediator, arbitrator, and special master

New Panelist Announcement


SEATTLE – JAMS, the largest private provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, today announced the addition of Hon. Helen L. Halpert (Ret.) to its panel. Judge Halpert will be based in the Seattle Resolution Center and serve as a mediator, arbitrator and special master in a wide variety of disputes including Appellate, Business/Commercial, Employment, Family Law, Government/Public Agency, Estate/Probate/Trusts, Indian Law, and Real Property. Judge Halpert joins JAMS after nearly 30 years of distinguished service to the judiciary in King County, including 19 years on the King County Superior Court.

Judge Halpert’s dedication and compassion for clients has established her as an outstanding part of the Seattle legal community. We are extremely pleased to have her join our team and know she will make a wonderful addition to the panel.

Throughout her legal career, Judge Halpert has held herself to the highest standards: whether representing clients, presiding over cases or chairing the Washington Pattern Jury Instruction Committee, Judge Halpert strives for excellence. She brings intellectual rigor, integrity and compassion to each case and treats both sides with dignity and respect.

Judge Halpert has presided over a range of matters from business/commercial to employment to family law issues, with an emphasis in providing equal justice to minorities. Judge Halpert was selected as Washington Women Lawyers “Judge of the Year” in 2018, her second time receiving this honor.  

Judge Halpert received her A.B. from Occidental College before earning her J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law.
