Tevrizian (Ret.) was selected to receive the Armenian Bar Association’s top honor, the Lifetime Achievement Award. The award recognizes Judge Tevrizian’s achievements as a founding member of the association and the contributions he has made to the legal community throughout his esteemed career.
Judge Tevrizian joined JAMS in 2007 after serving more than 32 years of his legal career on both the federal and the state trial courts, where he served 22 of those years on the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Additionally, he paved the way as the first Armenian American to be appointed to the federal bench.
Known for his ability to bring disparate groups together in even the most difficult situations, Judge Tevrizian takes an active role in case management and in settling cases, and has successfully resolved some of the nation’s most contentious and challenging disputes.
