JAMS Begins Reopening U.S. Resolution Centers

JAMS plans to reopen eight resolution centers by early June, following local government guidance

General Announcements Resolution Center News

Irvine, Calif. – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is beginning a phased and careful approach to reopening its resolution centers following the COVID-19 outbreak.

The JAMS Atlanta and Dallas Resolution Centers have reopened with added safety measures and modified schedules and usage, in accordance with local government regulations and guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control. JAMS is prepared to reopen up to six additional locations in early June as local shelter-in-place orders are lifted. The list of locations includes two resolution centers in California (San Diego and Irvine), as well as centers in Boston, Las Vegas, Minneapolis and St. Louis.

JAMS has implemented a staggered and gradual approach to reopening its resolution centers and has structured office environments to follow social-distancing guidelines.

Throughout this crisis, I have been incredibly proud of the way our staff and neutrals have adjusted to our current normal, coordinating and conducting remote ADR proceedings from their homes and continuing their unwavering commitment to the businesses and law firms that rely on our services. As we carefully enter the first phase of reopening, we appreciate the dedication of our neutrals and staff, and the support of our clients.

- Chris Poole, JAMS President and CEO

JAMS has implemented extensive safety measures to minimize the risk of exposure to the coronavirus, including the following:

  • Following extensive cleaning and sanitizing protocols and procedures
  • Providing personal protective equipment to all JAMS staff and neutrals (and providing masks for clients who may not have one)
  • Adding plexiglass partitions to reception desks
  • Ensuring hand sanitizer is readily available throughout each center
  • Establishing interaction protocols, including directing foot traffic, setting meeting room capacities and limiting the number of clients in each center at a given time

JAMS is also continuing to offer clients the ability to conduct arbitrations and mediations virtually.
