Irvine, Calif. – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is opening four more resolution centers in addition to those that are already open and scheduling in-person hearings following the COVID-19 outbreak.
In addition to the eight resolution centers that reopened at the end of May and in early June, JAMS is prepared to reopen four additional locations this week as local shelter-in-place orders are lifted in Detroit, Miami, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.
JAMS has taken a phased and careful approach to reopening its resolution centers and has structured office environments to follow social-distancing guidelines.
We have implemented a staggered and gradual approach to reopening our resolution centers, as our highest priority is preserving the safety of our associates, clients and panelists. As we carefully enter this next phase of reopening, we appreciate the dedication of our neutrals and staff, who have adjusted to coordinating and conducting remote ADR proceedings from their homes to support the businesses and law firms that rely on JAMS to resolve their disputes.
- Chris Poole, JAMS President and CEO
JAMS has implemented extensive safety measures to minimize the risk of exposure to the coronavirus, including the following:
- Following extensive cleaning and sanitizing protocols and procedures
- Providing personal protective equipment to all staff and neutrals (and providing masks for clients who may not have one)
- Adding plexiglass partitions to reception desks
- Ensuring hand sanitizer is readily available throughout each center
- Establishing interaction protocols, including directing foot traffic, setting meeting room capacities and limiting the number of clients in each center at a given time
JAMS is also continuing to offer clients the ability to conduct arbitrations and mediations virtually.
