Irvine, Calif. – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce the addition of Hon. Charles Margines (Ret.). Judge Margines joins JAMS after more than 23 years as a judge on the Orange County Superior Court and, for the five years prior to that, as a municipal court judge.
Based in the Orange County Resolution Center, Judge Margines will serve as an arbitrator, mediator, special master/referee and hearing officer, handling real property, business and commercial, employment, product liability, personal injury and torts, and professional liability disputes. He is available to conduct sessions in person (adhering to reopening guidelines), as well as virtually for attorneys and their clients across the country.
Judge Margines is recognized and known for his extensive knowledge of the law, his fairness and his ability to resolve disputes efficiently. His ability to connect with the parties and see all sides of a matter makes him an outstanding addition to our panel.
- Chris Poole, JAMS CEO
Judge Margines was the assistant presiding judge of the Superior Court for two years and presiding judge for three years. As presiding judge, he guided the court’s 144 judicial officers and approximately 1,500 non-judicial staff during a challenging time with a steady hand and sound decision-making.
Throughout my career, I’ve found that preparation and attention to detail are key components in helping to resolve matters. I’m looking forward to this next phase in my career and continuing to do the work that I love.
- Hon. Charles Margines (Ret.)
Judge Margines received his B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles and his J.D. from the UCLA School of Law.
