Century City, Calif. – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce that Dr. Sukhsimranjit Singh, Ph.D., has received the Cloke-Millen Peacemaker Award from the Southern California Mediation Association (SCMA). The award was presented during the SCMA’s Annual Fall Conference on October 26 at the Straus Institute at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.
Presented annually, the Cloke-Millen Peacemaker Award honors an individual or organization in the dispute resolution community who inspires others through their passion and dedication to peacemaking. The award is named in honor of two of the SCMA’s founding members, Kenneth Cloke and Richard Millen.
Dr. Singh also served as the keynote speaker at the conference. Against the backdrop of this year’s theme, “A Changing World: The Past, Present, and Future of Mediation,” he discussed “mediating with heart and mind in divided times.” In his speech, he examined the historical lens of unity and divide with a focus on the science and psychology of building trust without compromising values, connecting those ideas to practical problem-solving applications for both mediators and non-mediators.
“Congratulations to Dr. Singh for this outstanding recognition from the Southern California Mediation Association. Throughout his career, he has remained an advocate for the advancement of the ADR field and has played an invaluable role in helping to train business professionals and students in how to use mediation and negotiation theory to develop creative solutions for disputes. He is a devoted member of the Southern California legal community and lauded among his peers for the respect and empathy that he brings to each case that he handles.”
