JAMS Shortlisted for Global Arbitration Review’s Best Innovation Award

JAMS is recognized for trailblazing rules governing disputes involving artificial intelligence

Awards

LONDON – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is honored to be named to the shortlist for Global Arbitration Review’s (GAR) Best Innovation Award. The Best Innovation Award aims to celebrate organizations and practitioners for their pioneering contributions within the field of international arbitration.

JAMS was recognized by the GAR Awards for introducing a new artificial intelligence disputes clause and rules. The legal framework, the first in the ADR industry designed specifically for complex, AI-related disputes, goes further than general rule revisions and case management tools.

“We are proud to be nominated for GAR’s Best Innovation Award for our AI Rules. As the first of their kind, the rules have established clear, tailored guidelines for practitioners seeking solutions in complicated, AI-driven disputes. This shortlist recognition highlights our dedication to meeting the needs of clients and stakeholders against the rapidly shifting legal technology landscape.”

Kimberly Taylor, JAMS president and CEO

In AI disputes, the rules refine and clarify processes related to proper filing, service of the request for arbitration, commencement of the arbitration and service of documents throughout the arbitration. The guidelines further build on the regulations outlined for arbitrations involving new technology and redefine “artificial intelligence” as “a machine-based system capable of completing tasks that would otherwise require cognition.”

Winners of the GAR 2025 Best Innovation Award will be announced on April 10 during Paris Arbitration Week. More information on the awards can be viewed on GAR’s website (a subscription is required to access this content).
