Silverman, Retired Judge, 11th Judicial Circuit, Florida, has been honored with the Legal Legends Award from the Miami Beach Bar Association (MBBA). The MBBA’s Legal Legends Award and Reception will take place on September 18 in Miami Beach.
In its second year, the Legal Legends Award honors individuals who embody the association’s mission “to promote respect for the law and the justice system through service to the community and to the legal profession.” The MBBA is a voluntary bar organization comprised of attorney members and non-attorney associate members who live and work in Miami Beach.
Congratulations to Judge Silverman for this recognition from the MBBA. He is known for his keen ability to work with parties to achieve effective results, supported by his unwavering persistence and creative approach to problem-solving. Judge Silverman is a devoted member of the South Florida legal community and well respected for his humble, down-to-earth disposition and positivity.

Judge Silverman joined JAMS in 2012 after serving for 22 years as a judge on Florida’s 11th Judicial Circuit and eight years as a judge on the Miami-Dade County Court. During his time on the bench, he presided over thousands of cases across all areas of the law and served as the circuit court’s historian.
In his role at JAMS, Judge Silverman serves as an arbitrator, mediator and a court-appointed neutral as a referee/special magistrate. He has handled hundreds of matters spanning across numerous practice areas, including business and commercial, employment law, entertainment and sports, family law, health care, insurance, international and cross-border, maritime/admiralty, personal injury, professional liability and real property.
