Century City, Calif. – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce that Steven J. Kaplan, Esq., has joined its panel. Mr. Kaplan joins JAMS following a distinguished career in private practice handling cases in all areas of labor, employment and employee benefits law.

Beginning in 2009, Mr. Kaplan served as the principal of the Law Offices of Steven J. Kaplan. In this role, he represented employees, unions and employers in a wide variety of work-related matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination and harassment, jury trial litigation and arbitration, collective bargaining and administrative hearings. He has practiced before a host of government agencies, including the National Labor Relations Board, U.S. Department of Labor and California Civil Rights Department. Earlier in his career, he served as a partner or principal at various law firms in the Los Angeles area.

Based in the Century City Resolution Center, Mr. Kaplan will serve as an arbitrator, mediator, court appointed neutral (referee/special master), neutral evaluator, temporary judge/judge pro tem and hearing officer, handling employment law, business and commercial, entertainment and sports, health care, higher education and construction matters. He is available to conduct sessions in person, as well as virtually, for clients across the country and internationally.

Prior to joining JAMS, Mr. Kaplan served as an arbitrator for five years handling both employment and commercial matters with the American Arbitration Association. Respected for his analytic skills, Mr. Kaplan has handled important appellate issues, writes and speaks frequently on labor and employment law topics and taught an employment law course at UCLA School of Law from 2018 to 2023. An active member of the legal community, he is a fellow of the College of Labor & Employment Lawyers and the American Law Foundation, and is a member and past co-chair of the Committee on Union Administration and Procedure with the Labor & Employment Law Section of the American Bar Association, among other professional affiliations.

Mr. Kaplan earned his B.A., with great distinction in general scholarship, from the University of California, Berkeley and his J.D. from the UC Berkeley School of Law.
