Atlanta – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce that William H. Farmer, Esq., has joined its panel. Mr. Farmer joins JAMS with decades of experience as a litigator, having handled over 70 jury trials in a wide range of cases.
Mr. Farmer was a founding partner of Farmer Purcell White & Lassiter and remained with the firm until 2024. Prior to that, he was a founding partner of Farmer & Luna and served with the firm from 2000 to 2010. Earlier in his career, he was a partner in the litigation practice group at Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis. In these roles, he gained substantial trial and appellate experience in general civil and criminal litigation, toxic tort and environmental cases.
Based in the Atlanta Resolution Center, Mr. Farmer will serve as an arbitrator and mediator, handling business and commercial, contract, criminal law, land use and land condemnation, and personal injury tort litigation matters. He is available to conduct sessions in person, as well as virtually, for clients across the country and internationally.
“Mr. Farmer has an illustrious track record as a leader, educator and litigator within the Nashville and Tennessee legal communities. He is widely praised for his approach and thoughtful evaluation of each matter he handles. We are pleased that he has chosen JAMS, and we are confident he’ll be a valuable asset to the parties we serve.”
Kimberly Taylor, JAMS CEO and president
Beyond his work in private practice, Mr. Farmer’s experience includes serving as an assistant U.S. attorney, the first federal public defender for the Middle District of Tennessee and advocate general for the state of Tennessee. Additionally, he is an adjunct professor at Vanderbilt University School of Law, where he teaches trial advocacy.
“Years of litigation experience have taught me how to think creatively about legal strategy and the many ways in which a case can move forward. This mindset, and the ability to think critically about how to engage parties clearly and respectfully, has been of tremendous value in my practice and has shaped my approach to mediation. I look forward to continuing this work in my new role with JAMS,” said Mr. Farmer.
Mr. Farmer earned his B.A. from Austin Peay University and his J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law.
