San Diego – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce that G. William (Bill) VanDeWeghe, Jr., Esq., has joined its panel. Mr. VanDeWeghe joins JAMS with 15 years of experience as a litigator and many years of experience as an investment banker, CEO and board member.
As an attorney, Mr. VanDeWeghe’s practice was focused on commercial litigation, professional liability matters involving attorneys and accountants, and a wide variety of general liability matters. He has been endorsed by both plaintiff and defense counsel. He has a deep understanding of the challenges both sides of a dispute face as they navigate the uncertainties, risks and costs of litigation. He is known for his ability to quickly grasp issues, craft effective strategies and find innovative ways to resolve disputes.
In his business career, Mr. VanDeWeghe served as the CEO of a lab equipment and services company and the co-founder and CEO of a software company. He also served as a managing director at an investment banking firm and as a board member for public and private companies. In these roles, he worked with companies to make acquisitions, prepare for a sale, merge companies and pursue capital from individual investors, venture capital firms and private equity firms. He has a strong understanding of the criteria investors use to evaluate companies, the terms of agreements and investor expectations once an investment is made.
Based in the San Diego Resolution Center, Mr. VanDeWeghe will serve as an arbitrator and mediator, handling business/commercial, employment, professional liability, intellectual property, product liability, environmental and admiralty/maritime cases. He is available to conduct sessions in person, as well as virtually, for clients across the country and internationally.
Mr. VanDeWeghe is known for his professionalism as both an attorney and successful business leader. He has the know-how to deftly navigate complex disputes and the interpersonal skills to understand the dynamics that play out between parties that impact case trajectory. We believe he will be an excellent addition to our panel and welcome him to JAMS.
